Birth is not something most people think to have documented. But why not? It’s a moment as big, if not bigger, than your wedding day.

I am currently accepting ONE expectant family in the month of April to document your labor, birth and immediate postpartum period as an experience building opportunity. This is a trial run for me in order to gain experience and determine if i can offer birth photography as an option in the near future

Where: In your home or hospital (wherever you plan to give birth) no more than one hour from 07740
Criteria: Due in April, both mother and partner/support person MUST be comfortable with a photographer in the birth space, must be a planned vaginal birth, must be flexible with the need to have the birth documented.
I cannot 100% guarantee I will be able to make the birth; this is a trial run for me, but I will make every effort to be there. If I do not make it, I will photograph baby within 72 hours of birth.
Cost: A value of $1000+ for $450
What is Included: In person consultation, 24/7 on call time from 38-42 weeks, documentation of labor, birth and up to 2 hours postpartum for newborn exam, two high resolution digital images, post birth reveal and ordering session.
We will need to meet in person to go over the contract and both of our expectations. I will not share anything in my portfolio without your permission.

WHY PHOTOGRAPH THE BIRTH?

1) It’s one of the biggest moments of your life and there are parts you will forget. It’s an intense experience and memories get lost in the emotion and exhaustion.

2) There are parts you never got to see, like your partners reaction, or parts of the newborn exam if baby is not directly next to you.

3) The medical professionals, doulas and partners are all supporting you and immersed in the experience as well, they should not have to worry about documenting the experience.
