NJ Fresh 48 Photographer
New Jersey Fresh 48 sessions take place within 48-72 hours of baby’s birth
– whether you’re in the hospital, or comfortably at home.
I’ll photograph a mix of guided imagery and documentary-style photos, so the end results are raw and intimate.
As a former Newborn and Maternity Nurse, I know my way around a postpartum hospital room and have a respect for hospital staff and their procedures. Not only have I cared for families immediately after birth, but I have three children myself, so I know what that time looks and feels like.

1.
Reach out
Use my contact form, send me an email and we will discuss your vision for your session and get to know each other.
2.
Booking & Planning Session
I will mark down your due date on the calendar. To book you will pay the session fee retainer and review and sign the contract. Then through a phone, video or in-person consultation, we will go over all the details of the session including: how you envision displaying your images in your home and how to prepare your baby when I come to photograph him or her.
3.
Updates
Keep me updated with any changes in plans or any pertinent information. For example, if you change providers and need to change birth location, if baby has flipped breech and you’re planning a c-section, if your provider suggests an induction, etc. Also you or your support person should let me know when you have been checked in to the hospital, birth center or are in active labor at home. This will help me arrange childcare to ensure I am available within the next few days.
4.
The session
We will enjoy a love filled, intimate session together capturing your family’s unique connection and your baby’s sweet little features
5.
Gallery reveal and ordering
Within 1.5-2 weeks of your session we will schedule a reveal and ordering session either in your home or virtually. At this time I will present you your images in a slideshow and we will go over any designs I have made for wall art and or albums. You will then place your order!

Fresh 48 FAQ
-
When should I book my Fresh 48 session?
I recommend booking your Fresh 48 session in your second or third trimester to ensure I have availability during your birth month.
To book, all I need is the retainer and a signed contract and your guess date will be put on my calendar. Both of these need to be completed to hold your slot.
How should we keep in contact to ensure your availability?
Keep me informed with any details leading up to the birth such as labor signs or if you’re going to be induced or have a scheduled c-section.
When you go into labor, you’re on your way to the hospital/birth center or once you are admitted you or your support person can contact me (don’t worry if it’s false labor). The sooner I know that baby could be coming, the better so I can prepare my schedule.
My house is small/messy/not Pinterest worthy.
No worries! My focus is on you and your baby. All I need is a space near a window and we will create beautiful portraits you’ll never forget.
Do you include any cute props like baskets or buckets and do you pose baby?
I do not provide any props. If you have items you would like to include in the session, I am happy to incorporate them.
I do not pose baby. I focus instead on the connection and interactions between you and your baby.
Why don’t you pose baby?
The short answer is, I focus on everyday moments and I strive to capture your newborn and family as authentically as possible. If you want to know more about why I do not pose baby click here.
Can siblings be involved?
Absolutely! I include any and all family members, including fur babies. My sessions are about so much more than just the baby.
Do you photograph baby alone?
Yes, I do photograph baby alone, however I never photograph just the baby. The baby is part of your family and I never want you to regret not having images of you with your baby.
When will I see my images?
Your gallery will be ready within 2-3 weeks of our session. We will schedule a time to meet either in person or virtually where we will review the images together.
Do you offer prints?
Yes! Prints are my specialty. I offer heirloom quality albums and custom framed prints. Everything is personalized to your needs.
