Shortly after announcing that Michelle Amy Photography would be moving into a studio, I found out the devastating news that the building had a very motivated buyer who had plans to open a dance studio and was particularly interested in the space I was occupying. I had never officially signed a lease, but I was already moved in with plans to do some work to make it more functional. Unfortunately this meant that I could no longer use the space as planned and had to move everything back out. The call came in on one of my most stressful and emotional days, so when I got the news, I immediately broke down. My sweet, sweet girl saw my tears and started to comfort me. When I told her I was no longer able to move into the studio, she started offering up suggestions and solutions, including using her bedroom- it just melted me. I allowed myself to wallow for the day and by that night, I was already on the search for a new place. I even reached out to a couple listing agents that very night. It took some time to hear back from the agents but when I did, I was eager and ready to see the new places. I decided to shift my mindset pretty quickly and see the good to come out of this experience. Shortly after, I was able to view a few places and ultimately ended up finding a place in Oceanport only minutes away from my home. I saw two different units within the building and realized the potential in both. I had my husband come in to view the two units and we both agreed the one unit would be perfect for me. It needs some renovation and love but I am so excited to share that I have officially signed a lease and will be opening up my studio in Oceanport in March!! That only leaves me a month before going on maternity leave but I could not be happier. Over the next few weeks I will be sharing more updates and pictures. I still plan on holding a few model calls for the different sessions I will be offering, so be on the lookout for those as well.
